FROM THE PULSE OF HOUSE MUSIC TO ILLUMINATING EVENTS IN SEATTLE: THE JOURNEY OF WILF LIBGOTT
For Wilf Libgott, founder of Seattle Sound and Lighting, the rhythmic pulse of house music wasn’t just a genre; it was the soundtrack to his formative years. Growing up in the vibrant 90s, a decade defined by its burgeoning electronic music scene, Wilf was captivated by the infectious energy and unifying spirit of house. This wasn’t just background noise; it was a cultural phenomenon that seeped into the very fabric of his being.
The 90s witnessed house music evolve from its Chicago and New York roots into a global force. The raw, soulful vocals and driving four-on-the-floor beats resonated deeply, creating a sense of community on dance floors worldwide. From the underground clubs to the mainstream airwaves, house music offered an escape, a celebration, and a feeling of collective euphoria. It was a time of innovation, with subgenres like deep house, progressive house, and tech house emerging, each adding its unique flavor to the sonic landscape. For a young Wilf, immersed in this vibrant sonic tapestry, the passion for this music was more than just a fleeting interest – it was a seed being planted.

This deep-seated love for house music wasn’t just passive; it was creatively fertile. In 2000, Wilf’s know-how in music production culminated in the release of his track “The Jumper” on Blue Special Records. Successfully remixed by Mass Medium, the initial release did garner world wide success, but little did Wilf know that more than two decades later, “The Jumper” would experience an unexpected and electrifying resurgence once more.
Fast forward to today, and “The Jumper” is igniting dance floors across the globe once again. Played by titans of the electronic music scene like Peggy Gou, VTSS, KI/KI, Yasmin Gardezi, Boys Noise, and Ammara at major international festivals, the track has found a new generation of fervent listeners. Even immensely popular DJs such as Timmy Trumpet and Blasterjaxx have been featuring it in their radio shows, introducing its infectious energy to a massive audience. This unexpected revival speaks to the timeless quality of the track and Wilf’s innate understanding of what makes a dance floor move.

Now in 2025, several new remixes have been released on Armada Music, the record label founded by Armin van Buuren. Both the [IVY] remix as well as the ance. Remix have introduced the classic track to new audiences. And as a result of all of this, Hammer House is racking up millions of plays on Spotify.
While his musical journey has experienced this thrilling second chapter, Wilf’s creative energy has also manifested in another impactful way, right here in his adopted home of Seattle. Fueled by the same desire to create immersive and unforgettable experiences that drew him to house music, Wilf founded Seattle Sound and Lighting.
Drawing upon his deep understanding of rhythm, atmosphere, and the power of sensory experience, Wilf’s company provides top-notch event lighting services and sound rentals for a diverse range of events across the greater Seattle area. From intimate gatherings and corporate events to electrifying concerts and vibrant weddings, Seattle Sound and Lighting brings a professional touch and an artistic eye to every occasion. Just as house music creates an atmosphere through sound, Wilf’s lighting designs sculpt spaces with color and movement, enhancing the emotional impact and creating truly memorable moments.
Wilf’s journey, from a 90s kid immersed in the burgeoning house scene to a producer whose early track is now a global sensation, and finally to the founder of a thriving Seattle event services company, is a testament to the enduring power of passion. It’s a story of how a deep love for music can evolve and branch out, ultimately illuminating not just dance floors, but the entire landscape of events in his community.
